Hakatajima

Hakatajima is known as the “Salt Island” for its prosperous salt production dating from ancient times.
Other prosperous industries here include maritime shipping and ship building.
The island features a plethora of sites representing the vestiges of the Murakami Kaizoku, such as the Kitaura Hachiman Shrine, as well as numerous sporting facilities.

Michika Island

Ceramics and other trade goods have been unearthed
from an archeological site of a village here from the time at a quality
and volume normally found in a feudal lord’s household.

Grave of Masafusa Murakami and Zenkoji Temple

It is said that the grave of Masafusa Murakami and his wife was located at the root of an ancient camphor tree nearby Zenkoji Temple, said to be the family temple.
